Yes, i did buy that amazingly expensive keyboard. The first thing i thought when i pulled this thing out of the box that it was shipped in was, "dang the keyboards factory box had some major work done to it!" The information on the box was very well organized with some very high quality ink, this is not a china toy just by looking at the box (even though it is made in china) i opened the box a wooooohhhhhh! FACTORY SMELL!! but it was beautify packaged in separate bags, this was not just slapped together in a poorly organized box, neither was this designed by extremely underpaid Chinese people (what do you expect when you pay someone so poorly)

now to the keyboard its self!
the keyboards keys are super soft and very responsive, this is not what you will normally feel, you instantly tell that, yes, this was designed in USA, the glossy black paint was covered in easy to peal off stickers that leave no resin, no marks and even the stickers were high quality they were kinda, rubbery, the first thing i did was press on those keys, and i was instantly in love with this thing! it's Piano Black and a nice Hard Core Gothic Flat Black hand rest, say that 5 times fast i dare you, made you know these guys were serious about making the best gaming keyboard on the market and they were not going to stop there, then there is the software level! highly programmable, 10 keys can be pressed at once without the keyboard locking up, 1ms response time and one of the most awesome part, the razer logo actually fades out then back on timed out perfectly. It also has 32KB's of on board memory that saves multiple profiles so you can store different settings on your 10 L/R programmable keys, so when your in counterstrike you can press 1 button to get your setup, and don't worry about the dark these 10 buttons glow blue! but i did not buy this keyboard for the style, i bought this thing for the quality! i was going for the industrial strength, and i can feel it in the keys, these keys will not break, under a tremendous amount of typing go ahead, type all you want, i guarantee that you wont be able to kill your first razer keyboard in 20 years! and that was my plan, to find a keyboard that would last me forever then buy it, and i am glad i did, i bought one of the most expensive keyboards, but heck, money is for spending, and i don't love the money i love what it can get!

If you are between buying this keyboard and that other cheap one, skip the cheap idea this thing will last you forever, it will be your Gaming Sidekick for the rest of your gaming life, i went through 4 keyboards now and i think this one will be the last!! that is, if they will use USB 2.0 jacks in the future still... crap... well that is probably 5-10 years from now, heck, it is worth it after 5 years i went through 4 keyboards, if this even lasts me 2 years it will break my record!

all i can say is, now i know why i am a razer fan!

Sounds nice, I'm happy with mine for now though =]

I'd say they will still use USB for quite a while, it may not have the best bandwidth like firewire does but it has a good response time and thats all that matters for a keyboard anyways since each key is only 1 byte. You cannot possibly press keys fast enough to get CLOSE to 1 MB/s (1024 keys per second!) and USB 2.0 goes up to a maximum of 480Mbit/s.

USB 3.0 will go up to 4.8Gbit/s
